Gaining New Ground is a regional initiative designed to help farmers build secure land tenure, strengthen their business foundations, and access expanding market opportunities.
Certified Organic Farm Technician
This workforce development program prepared aspiring agricultural professionals with hands-on skills and foundational knowledge of organic certification and farm management. By supporting the next generation of organic growers, the program strengthened on-farm capacity and helped expand access to organic agriculture careers.
Fresh Access Bucks
Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) addressed food insecurity while directly supporting Florida farmers by incentivizing the purchase of locally grown fruits and vegetables. By increasing purchasing power for families and expanding markets for growers, FAB advanced both economic and nutrition equity.
Backyard Market
Backyard Market launched a virtual farmers market model that enabled small-scale producers to reach new customers while increasing community access to fresh, local food. The program demonstrated the power of flexible, technology-driven solutions to strengthen local food economies—especially during times of disruption.
