About the SNAP/EBT Program
The SNAP/EBT program was created to address gaps in food access for individuals and families using federal nutrition benefits. At the time, many local and direct‑to‑consumer food outlets faced technical, financial, or administrative challenges that made accepting SNAP/EBT difficult or impossible.
FOG’s work helped bridge these gaps by supporting systems and practices that enabled nutrition benefits to be used more broadly in local food environments.
